About this Event
When I first moved to the US, I didn’t feel particularly proud to be Indian. I was a closet Indian. I’d listen to Indian music and watch Bollywood movies but I wouldn’t admit it openly. I was trying to fit in, culturally assimilate myself with the dominant culture. In the process, I choked my Indianess to assume new values, behaviors, and beliefs.
This episode on Indian Pride is to share what makes our panelists proud to be Indian through the lens of history; culture; music, dance, and movies; spirituality, and our attitude. Our audience will gain a new perspective on what it means to be Indian and why we should be proud of it.
